Seaweed Starters - an update

SHONY
The original seaweed starter called Shony (a Sea God) Is thriving. The Island Dr has Edna on the go. Edna eats laver and is so named because Mount Etna and laver came to his mind. Hotchpotch, the newest sourdough eats absolutely any seaweed and likes rehydrated seaweed too. Hotchpotch could feed well in cities, where there are shops selling dried seaweed. Shony was almost called Persephone....Perhaps I should have considered Neptune. I have a hunch that Shony may have a long life.

Seaweed Starter for Sourdough

I've been developing a sourdough starter using seaweed.
I am now the proud owner of a seaweed starter.I blame the biblical botanists, Dr Harold Moldenke and his wife Alma for suggesting that dried seaweed was one of the three descriptions of manna mentioned in the bible. I think that it's an original idea but who knows. I am delighted to report that the natural leaven not only works, but that it makes the most delicious  sourdough bread. The best news is that I've managed to squeeze the recipe into Seaweed in the Kitchen
